Your files never leave your computer. TeknoTools Data reads, joins, compares and de-identifies your data on your own computer, and the part of the app that handles your data has no internet access. We never receive your files, their contents, or their names.
Only in two cases: (1) Checking for updates — when the app opens (you can turn this off in Settings) or when you ask, the app asks updates.newtekno.com whether there is a newer version, sending only its version number and the usual technical details of any web request (your IP address and system type). (2) Help & Support — only when you choose to send a ticket, the app sends what you write, your contact details, and the technical information shown to you before sending (version, operating system, licenses, settings, file types and sizes — never file contents, and file names only if you turn that on). There is no telemetry, no analytics and no tracking inside the app.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email, the edition you bought and the amount, so we can send you your license key and help you later. We never see or store your card number.
License records (license number, edition, name, email, date), support tickets, and standard server logs of downloads and update checks. We keep license records for as long as your license exists, so we can resend your key; support tickets and server logs are kept only as long as needed to help you and to run the service.
Only NewTekno, and the services that run our infrastructure on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Amazon Web Services (license, update and support servers) and Microsoft 365 (our support email). We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Because your files are processed only on your computer, NewTekno does not receive, store or transmit protected health information through TeknoTools Data. Please never paste patient data into a support ticket.
You can ask us to see, correct or delete your license and support records at support@newtekno.com. Deleting your license record means we can’t resend your key later.
Licenses and updates are cryptographically signed; our servers use encryption in transit and at rest, and access is limited to NewTekno.
TeknoTools Data is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
